306 Backbox

Will a 306 backbox fit a late 205 GTI?

Looks like the hangers are wrong, but the rest looks similar – anyone tried?

I'm sure it is possible if you want to cut off the hangers and make new ones, and possibly adapt or modify the rest of it. Only you can decide if it is worth the effort involved. Personally for the sake of £30-odd for a new replacement box for a 205, I'd just fit a new one, but thats me.
