Is This A Phase 2 Interior?

I hate to come over all spaz, but I just want to clear something up, I noticed the other day.

 

Whilst having a poke though my XS, the interior plastics seem to be a darker colour than the ones in my GTI, which have got me wondering that It may have had a Phase 2 interior transplant done to it at some time?

 

 

It is Grey. What seems like a darker grey than my GTI, but it definitely is grey (as opposed to black, which I thought Phase 2 cars were?).

 

Whilst I have a thread open about interiors - How rare are grey carpets and grey carpeted doorcards? I want to have a completely black interior on my GTI (I think it'd look awesome with the goodwood leathers that will end up in there!) so I was wondering if it was worth nicking the carpet from the XS and replacing it with a red item, or simply holding out for a grey carpet that I can put directly into the GTI?

I like the seats you have, where did they come from, or have they been re-trimmed ?

Looks like a limited edition interior so Phase 1.5 which will be grey. Phase 2 is a darker (Hurricane) grey which people call black. The only late grey carpets came in 1993 models and they had red chequered door cards - sometimes called Phase 2.5. The carpet I am guessing is original XS though as these had grey but not as deeper pile as the GTI.

 

Happy to be corrected by anyone. I have a funny feeling I have missed something though

I believe this man may be correct!

 

The seats are 309 goodwood leathers and yes, they are bloody comfortable. I got into them the other day after 4+ months of sitting in bucket seats and thought I had died and went to heaven .

 

 

I believe the door cards are from a Miami blue car, so maybe the carpet came from that car too?

 

If they are "limited edition" carpets and door card then they are certainly coming with me, I don't want to be waiting for months for another carpet to turn up, and I'm not overly keen on Red carpets

Correcto! Its been a while since i last owned a LTD edition miami / sorrento, but im sure they didn't have the red stripe on the door cards but grey lowers. I could be wrong though...

The ltd edition sorrento has a red stripe up top and grey lower part.
