Battery For Gti6

Apologies if this is not in the right place.....

I've tried searching but only found a few clues...

I've had a few problems with the the 205 not holding charge so I took it to an auto electrician. I think the problem is sorted but the chap did mention I should change the battery for a 065 rather than a 063?

I've noticed the car can have a bit of a flat spot sometimes, could this be the cause?

I'm guessing most people have done this and I've just been a bit daft not to? I dont want to spend a fortune but want a decent one as I'm fed up of replacing it, even when it had the 1.6!

Also can anyone tell me how much bigger the 065 battery is?

I'm using my standard 1.9 205 GTi battery for my GTi6. Its not like that 0.1 of a litre is going to make that much difference in starting and running the GTi6 compared to the old 1.9 engine. If you're got a big ICE install or run big stuff off the 12v adapter in your car, then yes get a HUGE powerful battery.

My FTO (top model) came as standard fitment of a Nissan Micra battery. Tiny tiny thing, but yet starts and runs the 2.0 V6 very well and I had no problems with it for 5 1/2 years of ownership until it was placed off road for 2 months and the battery didn't want to hold its charge after that.

You could give L.D.S. a ring normaly good for thing like this. 01443844844. I dont think that would give you a flat spot though and as said as long as it starts the car I would think it would be ok.

Best and cheapest place for a battery around here is Peugeot main dealer. I got one for a 306 gti6. The main dealer is normally cheapest for essentials like this I find.

A 063 battery will be fine!

I planned on fitting a massive battery, but after talking to a GTI owner at Halfords he convinced me that a 063 would be fine, and it has!

Actually, I left my interior light on recently. For two whole days straight! :). The car stilll started on the first turn of the key!
