So Where Do I Go Now?

Recommended Posts

I've decided to sell the 205 as I need a nice cheap to run car whilst my apprenticeship wages are, well crap ;)

Stuck her in the for sale section and wondering what to replace her with? Hopefully only a temporary thing until my money goes up. So looking at cheap diesels or smal petrol engines.

Anyone a suggestion for cheap, reliable etc?

diesel 306, cheap insurance and reasonably cheap parts, older ones are cheap to buy too, not "slow"

1.5 D 106/saxo, cheap parts, less goes wrong than on the 306, slow but awesome on juice, fairly comparative to the 306 on insurance costs (similar insurance grouping)

Moped ;)

how cheap are you wanting?

Erm upto around £900 as thats what I'd like for the 205.

If yours is a good 205 stick witth that, theres a lot of Sh*t-box 205's out there. That is of course if you plan on returning to the fold in the future, as I can see you regretting the sale.

205 parts are cheap as chips, drive sensibly (pah!) and they arnt horrendously uneconomical. Its just insurance that may divert your funds in a matter you find displeasing.

Cheap old cars break... a lot! better the devil you know :) Oh and I ran my 205 as a poorly paid apprentice, so ner ;)

Well it seems Dr Sarty has come to form another resuce mission.

A possible deal on the cards for my car, a cheap PX runaround and some ££.

How about a 205 STDT - all the looks of a GTI but with derv economy.

And unlike a 1.5D 106 or 1.9D 306 they dont actually go that badly either.

Nothings concrete yet, but he's put a good offer my way as he knows I've looked after the car. Hopefully get to do a deal in the next week or so...
