Pas Rack Gaiter Split

Recommended Posts

2-Pugs

I think I know the answer to this but wanted to check from those who may know for sure.

The PAS rack has a split boot on one end. On the photo below, it's the one I have arrowed. Neither of the concerina ones but a plain rubber boot.

Is this an MoT fail? Or are only the larger boots a failure point?

Next question I suppose is can I buy just that boot, and then how much of a @&!$?# is it going to be to fit? Do I need to remove the rack?

Super Josh

I don't know the answer as to whether it will fail the MOT Steve.

My boot split in exactly the same place. It's a strange hard boot that just slides into place, and is held in place by friction only.

You only need to remove the pasenger track rod end to fit (remember to count the turns so that you don't need to get the car retracked).

Bought mine from the dealer. Under a tenner from memory.

It should be a fail but some Super Glue works wonders, Thankfully that boot's a easy change unlike the one between it

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll get it changed in that case. Just looked it up on ServiceBox, £8.44 apparantly, so could be worse. Guess I'll be down the local dealer tommorow

Sorry Rob. Must be my old age :) I have a colleague called Steve, DOH.

Yes, long time no speak. Hopefully see you at Pugfest Mate
