dont think the dash has to come out to change the matrix iirc you can get at it by removeing the lower dash panel under the steering wheel last time i did one was about 7 yrs ago though, not sure the water could get in to glove box from there but im sure some else will no for sure!

I'm going to be typically blunt here, and if that offends anyone then hay-ho, that's life :) . I cannot for the life of me believe that anyone who has changed a heater matrix could be in any way unsure of the possibility that it could leak in to the glove box. Come on! It sits in the middle of dash and has it's inlet and outlet pipes on the drivers side, with no plumbing at all on the passenger side.

So no Liam, your matrix cannot be responsible for the puddle in the govebox :)

There's umpteen possibilities for what could be causing that puddle, suffice to say it must be coming from the passenger side and is most likely (common sense) to be coming from a place that is higher than the glove box.

I hate to say it, but if you do a search and really dedicate an hour or so trawling the results you'll no doubt find a list of things to check as there really is various areas that can cause the problem. You'll probably get a few ideas from people replying to this topic, depending on who reads it and who replies, but your best bet is to search and read old topics.

Your starter for ten - blocked sunroof drains causing water to track down the A pillar, or failed windscreen seal.

yeh the sunroof drain holes or the screen thats where it will be coming in,and like glpoomobile says do a search to find out 1st it might take a while but at least you maby find some 1 with the same problem,,,,,,,,,,like i said above if its the heater matrix your radio will be piss wet and the carpets will be wet also and like glpoomobile said the matrix is on the drivers side miles away,,,,,,,,,,,but now if your heater matrix doe,s go you know what to look for

Bit of silicone in the corner of the windscreen, between the seal and A-pillar. Job done.

The seals shrink with age.

Funnily enough I got a puddle of blue coolant in my glove-box once, f*** knows how it got there and it never happened again!

Cameron, the only thing I can think is that coolant leaked out of the expansion bottle (or dripped whilst filing) on to the wiring loom and tracked through the bulkhead in to the car, dripping in to the glovebox.
