Ax Gt Head On Rallye

i am getting a ax gt for free so will be swapping over the head ect is there any other bits worth taking from it??? also is all head gaskets the same on tu's as i have a triple layer metal head gasket

Does your rallye have the iron block engine, if so then swap the whole engine over as the alloy block one on the AX will make a vast improvement to the handling, you could also use the shorter ratio gearbox.

i would imagine its iron its a uk spec are all uk ones iron??

Depends how fast you work, how many bolts are seized, how many trips you have to make to the motorfactors to buy bits that you've broken allong the way.

yeah true well im an apprentice mechanic and my mate served 3 years of his time so should be ok i have done a evo 8 engine before so this should be pretty easy

Engine swap on a TU shouldnt take anytime. When I was a noob with cars I did it in less than a day, Would only take a few hours now.

its just a straight swap bud. all wires the same. yeah all uk spec rallyes were iron block. you should gain (if engines were new) about 10 hp save about 25kg ish and a shorter box.

i like checking engine numbers and Gearbox numbers because sometimes with older cars they might of had a engine transplant at one point and because engines/gearboxes are so interchangeable and visual similar.
