i have a set of these but i dont have disks what disks do you use when running these???

Ebay them and buy something decent, very old fashioned and not much good IMO. Escort/Capri boys go mad for them though...

Your probably aware of this already but if your not, Princess 4 pots are made by AP racing.

 

Give them a bell or goto a website called Bigred, they might have some info.

i wouldnt say there not very good just heavy thats all

did he sell them in the end if not borrow a disc of him and take it down to your local factors and they should be able to match it up with something .

In a back to back test on a good spec tarmac Mk2 EScort, using Princess 4 pots against AP Monte Carlos (alloy 4 pots as used on works tarmac Mk2 Escorts), it was found that the Princess 4 pots were as powerful & stopped you as well as the Monte Carlo's....the only drawback is that they are heavy.

 

But....have a think about it....how 'heavy' is heavy......when compared to a GTi-6 set up & how would the performance compare ???

 

What do you think ?

Ok then, compare the Princess calipers to a set of modern AP racing 4 pots and see how they stack up then. Infact use them for about 6 months before you have to pop the pistons out and unseize the wreched things. Saying that though, the Princess calipers actually provide less braking force than the standard escort 2 pot caliper and the only reason the Monte Carlo caliper was used in it's place was the reduction in unsprung mass and the more even force it provided over a larger pad area.

Its obvious this man talks from experience, I've also done battle with AP iron 4 pot calipers and they certainly like to seize, hateful bloody things.

Thou shalt have no other god but me :ph34r: Only joking, i have come acorss these calipers before and they left a lasting imperssion. Hopefully they'll all rot away and take those horrific Willwood Dynolite calipers with them

Yes, I have to remove the pistons to unseize my mates wilwoods about every six months when his pads start to wear in a wedge shape... They're great when they work though and pretty light too. Although compared to some Ford branded AP Racing calipers I have they are about the same weight despite the APs being about twice the size of the wilwoods!

Look at a Dynolite caliper from the front while someone is standing on the pedal and watch the casing bend, very disturbing. Thats my biggest gripe with them. Modern AP Racing calipers are the mutts nutts and if i had the budget i wouldnt buy anything else.
