Centre Console

Hi,

Looks like my heater matrix has leaked and I'm in the process of removing my carpet as it needs drying out. Everything has come out fine apart from the centre console. How does the centre console detatch from the rest of the dash? The lower edge of the centre console seems to be free but it seems to be attached on the upper part, somewhere around the lower edge of the stereo slot.

I've had a search but all i've managed to find out is people saying 'remove the centre console'...

Any replies would be much appreciated.

There are a couple of bolts that go from inside the cubby hole upwards into the bottom of the stereo slot - you need to remove the stereo to get at these.

 

There's also a couple of screws that most people don't realise about, one either side, on the side of the center console sort of above the footwell vent - you might need to peel back the top edge of the carpet sides to see them.

i have stripped mine out yesterday,got the old matrix out and now waiting for a replacement of ebay
