Help Needed With Electrical Problems

Recommended Posts

evojay71

I've just changed the motor in 1900 GTI road rally car and I now have a problem when I connect up the battery the main yellow lead to the resisiter on the front panel is shorting out, this stops when I also disconect the one 2 pin plug from the auxilary fuse box. I took time to label all wires when taking them off so I would know where everything goes when it was time to reconnect everything. I know that this woud be hard to diagnose but could anyone give me a few pointers to check out without taking everything apart again as I'm not that good with electrics tbh and have a rally next weekend so not much time to sort it either,by the way its an 89 phase 1.5. Many thanks

You haven't got the connector for the fans (grey) and the power connector for the fan loom (black) around the wrong way have you? That creates a big short via the yellow and green (earth) cable if you do...
