Removing The Engine From A 405 Mi16

Recommended Posts

Jrod

So tomorrow I shall be removing the engine. Is there anything I need to know as I've not worked on a 405 in depth before.

Things like the Little hockey sticks holding in driveshafts on a 205? Should I do anything to the ECU before remvoving the engine etc?

Get a nice big 9" angle grinder, cut just infront of the bulkhead. Engine removed ready to go in the right shell!

Have a google on them and all will be told, Well almost.

They stoped trading around the mid to late 90's, But where even in the Touring Car's with a 309 GTi16

I did google but didn't find much, so maybe theyve done something to the engine / ECU? :P

No chance, Ray knew knew as much about Electronic's as my Fish

It would have been supplied by Superchip's if it was, Just remove the lid and look on the chip

But Team Hartwell was founded many many years ago and only stopped trading beacuse the other Hartwell brother wasn't intrested in Motorsport or car's for that matter of fact and along with Ray retiring meant the end of it.

They did allot of Imp, Talbot then Peugeot stuff inc the Rally challenge at the time, Even had stands at Silverstone with the Peugeot Club and had a good rep, shame it ended as it was handy for me only being 15 mins down the road

The name now is just a marketing thing as the whole lot has been sold to the Westover group

Shame looked a vaguely tidy 405 from that wing shot...

I sleep easy, mine came from a BX

Only bad bit body wise was a small scuff on the skirt and the drivers door had been bent (break in!) It was a bit of a shame yes but when they are worth so little it seems pointless.

True I guess, if I had the space and spare finance I would quite like a completely standard 405 Mi16. If only...
