Anyone Fitted The Radiator With Integrated Expansion Tank?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried this:

306 or any other radiator with integrated expansion tank, instead of std 205 install, radiator + expansion tank.

Is it possible?

306 rad I think is too big, they all have an awkward clip for the lower hose too which takes up space in the right hand corner, the 306 has a hole in the panel for this just where the lower part of the 205 front panel is.

106 rad I have here might fit, has normal hose tails and most have either a radiator cowling or a fan bracket bolted directly to the back of the radiator.

not heard of any cooling issues on the tuned 106's :)

as said avoid 306 / 406 rads due to stupid clip fittings and £80 hoses to conect to them,

lots of golf people do this to clean up the engine bay, but you can buy stock golf ones that have this on them.

just hunt around scrapies till you find one that fits the 205.

Thanks for comments guys

I'm investigating this because 205 expansion tank doesnt match with LHD 16v conversion and 309GTI16 exhaust manifold.

It would be nice to clean separate expansion tank out of the engine bay, would it not?

I'm going to check golf rads.
