M16 Ford Calipers

Recommended Posts

locosaki

After a little bit of measuring this evening I'm pretty sure the Ford M16 type caliper mounting points are the same dimensions as the 1900 Peugeot hub (83mm)

I'm thinking of buying the M16 Wilwood caliper(second hand) and mounting bell for an Escort bolting them to my 205.

The calipers in question can run discs sizes from 240mm up to 290ish.

My plan was to run the standard 1900 disc 244mm (unsure of diameter)

Does anyone forsee a problem with this ??

Check your offsets, I severly doubt discs with an Escort bell will all bolt up to a 205 upright and line up properly.

Thanks for that Tom,

Everything does seem to go together but to be honest I hadn't thought about offset !!

The calipers might bolt to the hubs, but if the disc then won't line up with the bells you buy then its no good. Nothing to say that you can't have some bells made, but this isn't cheap.

Yep fair point that,

It's a relatively expensive gamble to take for it not to work ?

i know the austin princess calipers wich some people use for a 205 .can allso be used for the mk2 escort .so might be worth looking into what discs people are using with the ap calipers see if they would work with your setup

I've got m16 calipers on my mk2 escort, i may have a spare 1.9 disk, can see how it all bolts up if you like as i def have 1.9 hubs.
