Quick Clutch Question

Recommended Posts

mainline

I started changing the clutch the other day, managed to get as far as dropping the wishbone, but can't get the pinch bolt out. Can I just release the other side nearest the gearbox.....

Just something that occured to me while its been too cold / dark to do owt... :)

yeah you could do

although some PlusGas/Penetrating Spray and a bigger hammer is probably all that is required :)

Yeah, go for it - I always find it easier and quicker to pull the two inner wishbone bolts out and free them that way; that's how we do it when swapping driveshafts in a hurry on events.

I'd go at it with a hammed as mentioned, a punch often helps to drive it through fully.

Also putting a twisting force on the bolt as you hit it often helps to break the seal of corrosion.

Then get a new bolt off Baz or from Peugeot/Citroen.

Didn't think the outside bolt would be stuck as it has done less than a thousand miles since I put new wishbones on, but you never know.

I will get the plusgas out this weekend and see how I get on.

Thanks for the replies guys. :)
