hi im after some help. when i bought my pug there was no windscreen washer pump fitted so i bought one and thought it would be a simple fix, plug and play sort of thing. so i plugged it in and they it didnt work. before fitting it when you pull the stalk towards you the wipers work. when plugged in nothing happens(no washers or wipers) without it plugged in theres 12 volts ish to the connectors but when it is pluged in theres nothing. what could this be???

cheers

Your problem is most likely in the switch stalk. You can take them apart and clean up all the contacts (note the internal springs when CAREFULLY separating the 2 halfs) or just get a good replacement

I find its actually more likely to be the connector/s on the washer pump itself or the earth points.

If the wipers work fine as you pull for squirt of the washers the contacts are working 100% fine, the power to the washers also triggers the wiper relay.

Same here, any unusual electrical faults (wipers or front indicator / side repeater) I've 99% found to be the earth points.

Graham.
