Vacuum Pipe, Now Running Carbs?

Recommended Posts

Jean_quemener

Hi bit of a problem, im fitting an mi16 engine into my pug and im going to be running twin 45's. was just wondering what do to with the vacuum pipe that comes of the inlet mainfold on the 8v as this feeds to the brake master cylinder and was also told the sunroof as well. if i was to blank this would it effect my braking and stop my sunroof from sealing propperly, if needed any way around it?

thanks jean.

You need to drill and tap a take off into the carb inlet manifold, you can get them from demon tweeks, merlins etc.

there would usually be a port on the manifold for that purpose, or at least I remember every 8 valve one I've seen having one :)

you can re use the original brass take of from the 8v inlet manifold that sits on the side if you still have it & matches your vac pipe just tap your carb manifold & a little thread lock.
