Cabriolet Roof/roll Bar Thing, Can It Be Removed For Refurbishing?

Recommended Posts

Toilet Duck

The titles hopefully self explanatory, so the roll bar thing that sits behind the drivers seats, and goes over the top of the car is looking a bit tatty. Plus I'd like to replace the window seals for the rear quarter windows.

So is this roof/roll bar thing removable to allow me to paint it and replace the seals?

rear window seals pull out at the bottom. They bond onto the bottom of the roll bar. I think the whole roll bar is structural so cannot be removed though i have never looked at mine in that much detail

No it can't be removed, the seals can be.

You'll have to sand a paint it insitu unfortunatley

Any ideas on how expensive a full set of weather seals will cost? Being honest they all need replacing, the quarter glass seals, the door seals and the door window seals are all past their best.

Is this a dealer only item, or are there any other companies I should be looking at?

they're a dealer only part but i'm not sure if they're available anymore and if they are, they are going to be hundreds of pounds!!!!

might be worth looking round some scrappies for a CJ or the like

EDIT > just had a look on Service box for you they're definitely no longer available!!
