S16 Block: Removing Oil Filler Pipe (through Block Steel Pipe)

Recommended Posts

Mad Scientist

I'm trying to remove the oil filler pipe from my s16 block before it goes to the machine shop. Anyone know how/if it comes out? I'm talking about the pipe that goes through the block and into the sump. The dipstick tube just pushed out, but this one will non budge.

Cheers,

Pete

It's glued with Loctite and pressed in.

You can loosen/weaken the glue by heating it a bit with an industrial heat gun. Then use hydraulic press to push it out. It's a b*tch to get it out.

Cheers
