How To Tell Differance Between 1.9 And 2.0 Mi16

Recommended Posts

Anthony

That looks like a 1.9 Mi16 bottom end (judging by the engine mount) and inlet manifold, and a 2.0 Mi16 head (or atleast thermostat housing)

1.9 Mi16 block is alloy, whereas 2.0 Mi16 is iron

1.9 Mi16 head has 9 studs on the exhaust manifold, whereas 2.0 Mi16 head has 10.

Not from those (crap to be frank) pictures.

The block on a 1905cc is alloy with all the ribs down the front.

The block on a 1998cc is iron and does not have the ribs.

I would say its almost definitely an alloy block, the alloy block engine mounting does not fit the iron block.

have a look which exhaust manifold it has, 1.9 has an 8 branch tubular one, the 2.0 has a cast iron affair, 9 and 10 studs respectively as Anthony said.
