Brake Calipers Upgrade Non Sliding Type

Recommended Posts

now i know that there are lots of upgrades for calipers but they all seam to use the sliding caliper type unless you go for 4 pots,, i was wondering if you could use a non sliding type of caliper if this would produce better brakeing?

Elise twin pots?

I 'think' if i worked it out right they are 36% better piston area wise than the GTI6 pistons. I think they use the same master cylinder size as the GTI6 too. 23.8mm?

Decent pads are cheap too for the Lotus calipers.

Theres only really two types of caliper, pin slider or opposed piston...

Do not ever use an increase in piston area as a rule to improve your braking system! You would usually look to maintain your piston area from standard unless its an out and out track car.
