Mi16 Rev Counter

hi all i have a problem with my rev counter one day it was fine then the next it started failing (not giving a correct reading) then just gave up on me

i have done a few searches on the topic but there is no advice on how to deal with the problem has anybody had the same problem and how was it fixed

Not had the problem myself but sounds symptomatic of a dodgy wiring connection to me, maybe worth a check to rule out.

IIRC theres a grey wire running from the coil to the dash, my initial fault was down to that being a bit dodgy.
