Weber Dcom Carbs, Are They Okay To Use On 8v 205?

Are Weber DCOM carbs okay to use on a 2 litre 8 valve (XU10J2) 205, it has Piper fast road cam and modest head work.

 

I am led to believe that DCOM carbs are Italian made and enhanced versions of the DCOE carbs with the improved diaphragm type accelerator pump as used on the Solex ADDHE and Dellorto DHLA

 

I also have been told the following if it helps answer my question I am not sure.

 

The carbs have 5 progression holes

32 chokes

emulsion tubes F64

main jets 138

air correctors 160

idle jets 59f21

 

Are the cokes too small I wonder?

 

The ones I am loking at are 40’s but I am not going to open the 40’s vs. 45’s debate

yes they will be fine, I think ashley peddle had them on his a few moons ago. Afaik its just the pump that is different, not sure on the air holes i thought it was just the 151/152g's dcoe's that had the 5 progression holes, i could be wrong though.

 

The chokes sound to small tbh so factor that in when costing.

I would be wary of going to high on the choke size because you'll lose a lot of low down grunt due to a lack of venturi effect.
