Cobra Immobiliser Lost Keys

Hi guys,

 

Don't ask how because it is the dumbest story, however I no longer have the immobiliser key for the cobra immobiliser system.

 

As such I need to disable / uninstall / remove the system at least in the short term.

 

Obviously when you search online there is not a lot on how to remove security protection, but cobra where particularly unhelpful asking me to bring the car in (well it doesn't run so thats not the easiest thing!!!)

 

Any help lads. Where does it go to. Where are the wires, what needs removing and replugging etc.

Cowboy auto electricians normally graft it into the wiring loom between the ignition barrel and the two multiplugs plugs, if so simply getting a replacement ignition barrel & wiring will suffice.

 

If it has been done properly you will need to trace the wires or call a decent auto electrician.

 

Are you not able to contact the manufacturer and obtain a replacement fob?

 

What engine is in the car?

Contacted the manufacturers agent and they said bring it in.... I can't see the main box so I am guessing it is behind the dashboard? Need to replace th ignition barrel anyway as all keys gone - Doh.

 

Engine is 1.6 gti (XU?)
