Inlet Manifold Brace Thingy

So I managed to get my new starter motor fitted, but the motor factors gave me a slightly longer one from a 306 diesel (apparently).

 

The extra length meant that I had to take the short brace out that is bolted in between the block and the inlet manifold.

 

However, I can't get the effing thing back on now so I've come back inside with bleeding knuckles to ask the experts and have a cup of tea!

 

Can I get away without refitting this?

Yes you can leave it off, with no real ill effects.
