Is there anyone or any topics on fitting the uprated oil pump spring to a 205 1.9 GTi please ?

I've searched on the forum with no success.

Cheers,

David

Remove sump, remove bolts holding pick up pipe side of pump to the rest of the pump, pull the old spring out, fit the new spring in, put it back together. Not much more to it than that.

Pretty simple really.

1) Remove sump (and possibly spacer plate too)

2) Remove oil pump (three bolts, withdraw spacer, and wiggle pump allow the chain to be removed)

3) Seperate two halves of the oil pump (six bolts in total IIRC)

4) Swap spring over, taking the opportunity to check pump for wear and that the pressure relief looks OK

5) Reassemble pump, cursing the harder spring

6) Refit is the reverse of removal

As above

One word of advice, don't go and pay £10 off E-Bay for the spring when they are under £2 from Pug dealers :D

Take the old plunger out when the pump is apart and inspect it. If it is smooth, not scored, no chunks missing, no obvious wear marks, then make a judgement and re use it if its in good order.

I've never felt the need to replace one personally.

PS Dare I say it that auction are recommending you replace it, as SHOCK HORROR they also have some for sale? As well as an oil pressure spring priced at a SCANDALOUS £9.33 incl post that can be bought for about £2 from ANY Peugeot or Citroen dealer.

Hello, could you tell me the Peugeot code for that uprated spring?

In Peugeot Service Box can only find a standard oil pump spring (5 bar) whose code is 115 13.

Thanks.
