205 Vs 309 Arb

Recommended Posts

Team BDR

Were planning a 309 wishbone and driveshaft swap this week end. I've already found out the steering rack is the same part but can't find out if the ARB needs swapping also? Any other parts required for the swap? What thickness ARB do most recommend for track only use?

You can use either ARB fitment wise. The 309 item is thicker, some people like it, others do not! If you have standard rear bars I'd suggest leaving the 205 one there.

You will be able to find plenty of topics on this, so worth a search. It really does depend on the rest of your setup, especially the rear, the standard 205 arb is 19mm whereas the 309 is 22mm iirc, if you do swap it over you will need the 309 mounting brackets also.

bear in mind a thicker (front) ARB with the standard rear (TB + ARB) will provoke a lot of understeer.
