As above, I need to get an alarm for my 205 and a lot of firms have said to go for this one. Any good and bad comments (about the alarm :D ) welcome

It's not the Alarm most of the time, It's aroud 95% of the fitters are c**p connecting into all the wrong places in the 205

I can't speak for the alarm in question, but certainly in my experience Cliffords seem to be very sensitive to how they're installed as to whether they're good or nothing but a complete pain in the a**e - unfortunately, most Cliffords I've had the misfortune of using have been firmly in the later catagory.

As per Chris's comment above, I've personally installed a couple of Toad Ai606's and think that they work well and seem to give very few problems and thus I'd happily recommend one to anyone and would/will buy myself another should I need another alarm in the future.

Thanks for all the comments!! I will look into the toad. I have fitted toads in the past to a few fords and they are not to bad to fit. I would fit it myself but I need the ticket for the insurance.

Out of interest Miles, where do you wire them up in a 205? Just so I can give the mong some pointers when he does it wrong :D

Anthony, good point about the clifford. My rallye has one and it has its odd moments!! That should be enough to put me off but I thought the newer ones may be better.

I fitted mine myself then took it to the local auto electrician chap who checked it over for half an hour to make sure everything was ok.

He pointed out a few things which i sorted out and then he signed my certificate.

That way i new where everything was and that the car had been put back together ok.

Just an idea for you.

Anwhere bar the main ignition wires, As like me it take seconds to bypass these, If I ever install one I end up taking most of the dash out so the wires and box cannot be found unless you dig very deep.

I'm sure I read that Thatcham approval requires at least 2 interior panels to be removed in order to get at any part of the system that would allow you to bypass it. Looking back at systems I've had fitted, I don't think any of them meet this criteria (present one included).
