Ph2 - Ph1 Rear Light Conversion

Recommended Posts

Craig89

I would like to change my Ph2 rear lights from my Ph2 205 rallye to Ph1 rear lights to follow my Ph1 french rallye scheme. I think i have got most of it sorted but im not sure of one thing. Because the brake light and side light are individual bulbs on the Ph2 but they use the same bulb on the Ph1 cluster. So presumably when you have got your lights on and you apply the brake the light gets brighter? But how is this wired?

Thanks, Craig

It's not too difficult to do - basically the reverse of the Phase 1 -> Phase 2 light conversion that most people do, and that will no doubt be will documented on various topics if you do a search.

The Phase 1 brake light is a twin-filiment 21/5W bulb - the taillight is the 5W part and thus quite dim, whereas the brake light is the 21W part and is thus bright. It's all done internally on the light cluster, and the tail light and brake light are on seperate wires leading to the nearside cluster.

Hope that helps.
