1.9 Gti Exhaust Manifold Relief Cuts

I've had a quick search and nothing came up on this.

 

On mx5 turbo exhaust manifolds they have relief cuts through the bolt holes and in between each header, I was wondering if its been done or a good idea to do this on my 1.9 gti?
