Downpipe To Center Section Exhaust Seal

Does anyone know where I can purchase one?

 

Everywhere I look, you have to but a fitting kit, I would, but I've modified mine for use with 13mm headed bolts instead of the feeble ones as std, so they'd be of no use to me at all!

 

I don't want to throw cash at the extra bits I don't want!

what do you mean by "fitting kit" ?

 

The downpipe to centre section is either a u bolt clamp over the sleeve fit P1 pipe or the P2 system is one piece downpipe and centre section with a flanged type joint to the rear box.

 

 

unless you mean the manifold to downpipe joint? in which case its best to buy the kit from Peugeot for about £15-18.

TU's have a gasket type ring between the downpipe and centre-section Welshpug.

DOH! in that case then I would get the fitting kit from peugeot, you do need some flexibility there to compensate for the engine's movement, without that you'd be cracking exhausts all the time unless you welded in a flexi joint.

LOL! Yes, it's the metal type Gasket ring I'm after, without the other bits, it's almost £30 from Peugeot!

As i say, you can buy the 'ring' alone at most motor factors, different sizes too as TU's/smaller engines use smaller ones that GTi's.

If it helps, the Arvin part number for that gasket alone is PGG26, listed on Buypartsby at £2.68 plus VAT - I imagine a local motorfactor will be similar price-wise.

Motorfactors definitely. I've replaced my downpipe and centre section on my XS and got the all the exhaust and fittings including that metal gasket thing from the motorfactors, should only be a couple of quid as Anthony says.

 

I think my parts came in a mixture Timax and Arvin bags
