Slick Tyres, Which Make And Compound?

as above, fancy buying a set next, to see the difference, was thinking of getting a set of hancocks, as there around £100 a corner.

 

but just wondered if i would better off with a different make?

 

and what compound should i get?

Depends on the use. I have run the Hankooks in supersoft for sprints/hillclimbs for a couple of seasons. On a double drive car they have lasted ok for the use they have had and grip levels are pretty good.

 

My mate runs the medium hankooks for rallying, and they will see him through an event with enough left over to donate to me to use at a track day or sprint.

 

The ultimate is Avon supersticky sprints tyres, but make sure your sitting down when you ask them how much as you won't see much change out of £1k.

Depends on allot of things, Can set up, Track and weather condition's and how much money you;ve got to try them and all see what suits, Don;t forget you need allot more Neg Camber for them to work

How about the new Avon ZZR which are to be produced in a softer compound in time for the new hillclimb/sprint season. £87 each for the 185 55x13 size from BMTR.
