A couple of quick questons

Can you fit / will it fit a 306 gti6 outer cv onto a 309 gti shaft with no modifications? i.e are the splines the same etc?

If you can will it alter the length of the shaft?

Edit:

Also is a 29 tooth abs ring on a gti6 driveshaft the same as a 29 tooth ring on a 309 gti driveshaft (abs equip one) dia wise? Or will a 309 abs ring work in a 306 abs hub and vice versa?

All help greatfully received :D

only if the 309 shaft was an ABS one, in which case the joint is the same one as used on the gti6, there are more splines on the ABS inner shaft, hub flanges and hence the outer spline are the same.

found that information here; http://www.elcome.co.uk/xplorerlite/AMK/

That answers the question nicely. So basically a 309 abs shaft would be fully functional in a 306 hub. I have just been looking on the amk site but could not find what I was after :D

Sorry guys need to pull this back up have seasrched but not so sure as to answer.

I am fitting 306 abs in my 205 gti, will 306 abs driveshaft ends fit on normal 309 1.9 gti shafts?

Also are all 306 shafts the same or do i need gti6 or which

I think they won't fit. The 306 shaft CV is a CV joint with 6 points. The 309 shaft is a tripod.

Why don't you use just 205 abs hubs and abs shafts?

The abs ecu needs as speed signal and the number of teeth should only be in the same ballpark, since the exact speed already differs due to different tire sizes...

As far as I the sensors are quite similar (like bdp sensors can be mixed as well....). Most important is that all wheels have the same number of teeth.

A 306 outer cv joint, with abs teeth or not, will fit onto a 205/309 driveshaft. Also fitting abs onto the rear of a 205 using 306 parts is an easy bolt on job.
