furry muff, just I can't imagine why the hell you'd want to obstruct your headlights and restrict airflow to the engine like that...

looks a bit rude boy/chav to me, reminds me of the corsas at the local crooz

welshpug - it is a bit old skool chav, but for some reason i like it lol, its not covering the main headlights at all, and there HID too which is plently, as for air flow it'll be getting its air from the other side (throttle bodies) and the scuttle will be cut and the front isnt straight across, it has a curve so still allows abit in there, but most the cooling is done through the bumper to the alloy rad, and for track the cut outs behind the number plate will help there, so i dont think air will be a problem. also the heat exchanger from a VTS is being fitted.

Woo - its 2 odd in the morning jonny, theres a drill and some tin snips nearby, i think i should beable to see the moon when layin back in a comfortable 205 seat

finally she looks like a car again

so finished port and polishing the head, the exhaust ports are gleaming, the combustion chamber is spottless and the inlets are pretty much done ;)

DSC05861.jpg

right, so the other day we had a sunny warm day :D

so flew out, got the wet and dry, some water and fairy-up liquid and sanded the engine bay down all over, then on when some acid primer and flatted that down again,

DSC05862.jpg

then over popped jonny (woo), with his compress and new posh gun and after fumigating the garage out we was left with this B)

DSC05865.jpg

DSC05866.jpg

DSC05864.jpg

sadly it has reacted a little in one place as you can see here, oh and the battery tray bolts have gone too..

DSC05868.jpg

it still needs buffing and polishing as there's some dust in there, but i cant complain it was done in the front of a garage lol

Soooo, now one day on things can finally get done

ive pulled the wiring back thro, and it... well looks a complete mess lol. but its a little progress,

DSC05871.jpg

DSC05870.jpg

and to keep everything dry put the bonnet on,

DSC05877.jpg

DSC05876.jpg

along with some ORANGE boot risers, god it feels good to use the orange again lol

DSC05874.jpg

and while at it lets just stick the bumper on lol,

DSC05880.jpg

oh go on then offer the morettes up too XD

DSC05881.jpg

But you no what  , i dont like the bonnet , it doesnt look like the photoshop and comes way to far over the morettes and pretty much completely covers the inner lense, so i think its going to go. so if anyones interested let me know and im gona get a standard one me thinks

Right then, think i better up date this.

the car came to life a little when the battery was fitted for some testing, was good to she her with some life again and have the radio on :) ,

so why did i fit the battery?

well one was i fitted the rear number plate lights, SMD sidelights giving the modern look, also gave the lenses a clean while at it.

right one is the SMD,

DSC05906.jpg

also i checked the wiring was working for everything, including the morettes and tested how i would wire the inner lense up on one morette,

DSC05904.jpg

but most of all i needed to check that my new wiper setup worked

so it started with some cutting, and bit of hammering and a custom little bracket for the scuttle, as i had cut away the stand item aswell as my nice new paint lol, shame but to fix it i had to dent the scuttle lower as the motor sits lower the a 106 item,

DSC05895.jpg

so with some hammering, drilling and cutting in slotted the item,

DSC05896-1.jpg

then on with the scuttle and wiper arm,

DSC05897.jpg

DSC05899.jpg

and a little bung to block up the other whole where the left arm use to fit,

DSC05898.jpg

right so its all together now,

DSC05900.jpg

DSC05893.jpg

the bonnet needs a trim where the arm rubs the lip, but its all fully working, but the ax wiper was a little short soo....

after about 30mins in halfords going through all the wipers on selection i came back with a 26" one for a .... well i dont know lol, but its the one i wanted and now the wiper cleans the screen perfectly :D

DSC05902.jpg

so now i have room to cut a nice chunk out of the scuttle panel when the time comes. ill have to pull it all back out of course to tidy it up and redo the paint along there, but i still need to spray the slam panel so thats no problem,

the head, washers, valve springs, retainers etc ready to go back in,

DSCF0882.jpg

next after placing the valve spring on, retainer and collets one of many was done :D

DSCF0883.jpg

then all inlets in place,

DSCF0887.jpg

and then finally all 16 valves in place,

DSCF0891.jpg

then in went the followers,

DSCF0892.jpg

right then, i think it's time for a little update then.

First off, ive been out there and pulled the AX single wiper set up out as it didnt give me the clearance i hoped for, so i needed something to wipe the wet stuff from the glass so i brought this from Raunchz.

IMG_3602.jpg

Its a LHD wiper set up from a french motor+ mech, arms and a brand new scuttle from peugeot. so now i just need to get the welder out again and put some brackets on the other side for it.

Also the front suspenion has been rebuilt,

first off powerflex bushes fitted,

DSC06042.jpg

then some new ball joints,

DSC06063.jpg

also some new wheel bearings,

DSC06017.jpg

and everything got a lick of paint,

DSC06018.jpg

and on when the struts,

DSC06014.jpg

and anti-roll bar on to, poly-bushed.

IMG_4199.jpg

DSC06059.jpg

and then one of the bigger bits arrived today

ive had a few little parcels turn up.

A clio style Stainless Tow eye,

DSC06142.jpg

a couple of near enough new engine mounts,

DSC06139.jpg

then some rose joints turned up,

2x M14x1.5

4x M12

and sealing boots too,

also some 16mm alloy and 18mm stainless round bar, so now i can get on making my droplinks and steering arms.

heres the droplink material, as we've started to make these but i need to get some dies to finish them off.

DSC06136.jpg

Also some porn arrived

IMG_4209.jpg

AT Speed racing lightweight billet flywheel,

IMG_4207.jpg

the 18mm bar and droplinks have been started in the above pic.

also popped out side, remove the standard steering arms,

DSC06122.jpg

DSC06121.jpg

and stripped the block ready for a clean, waterpump etc removed

DSC06123.jpg

ooh and she got a little clean today, the dirt has just been building up and it just looked so depressing. but still she is so dirty, she needs a proper claying and polishing but she can wait.

DSC06140.jpg

i did some cleaning up, the black vinal stuff thats on the doors has got ta little tatty over its 11 year life, so thought it was tiume to pull it off, was a pain but looks better.

So right, some cutting was going to be needed.

well i went and found the block from the back of the garage, bolted on some engine mounts and 1.1 gearbox and slotted it in.

then carefully place the head on top, tried the bodies, no so out came the grinder and hacksaw, chopped my self a little hole and tryed again. nope so cut again and again until finally.

DSC06208.jpg

DSC06210.jpg

DSC06209.jpg

DSC06211.jpg

so now there is a big horrid whole in the scuttle, so im going to tidy this up and get it looking abit more OE, so some fab work is in order. it needs welding any who as ive cut beyound the seal and i can now look at the foam behind my dash,

so next i think i better pull the dash out slighty so i can move the foam out of the way so theres no scary fires, thats all i need lol
