Fuel Swirl Pot System Under Boot Floor

Recommended Posts

jedibusa

I am sure this has been done but i have done a search and can't find anything specific.

I am looking at fitting a fuel swirl pot system under the boot floor but i have had a quick look under the car and there doesn't seem to be room to fit the fuel pipes over the fuel tank. They would fit over the beam but the gap is just too small over the tank. The only alternative i can think of is to lower the tank slightly or try and fit the pipes around the side of the fuel tank where the brake line goes.

Has anyone done this and if so how did they fit the pipes in?

I should say that this is for a MI16 race car and there is no room in the engine bay and i don't want the fuel inside the cabin. I also need to keep the full size fuel tank as one race each year is a 6hr relay. The only place left is therefore under the boot floor.

Any advice welcome

Thanks

If you have a look on the 306gti6 forum and look for a guy called Rich W, he uses a and sells a kit for fitting a swirl pot under the boot floor. From memory it goes where the spare wheel goes. It is for the 306 mind, but should give you some ideas.

I think he basically puts the swirl pot near the standard fuel pump so all of the new connections run through the standard fuel lines into the engine bay.

I run my swirl pot in my engine bay........
