Mi16 Wont Start

it has been idle for a month or so has petrol has fuel going into cylinders, has new plugs and is sparking but wont fire????

unplug the fuel pump, hook it up to a set of jump leads, turn it over for 2-3 mintues, if nothing then something is wrong with injectors as there will be no fuel (even though you say there is how have you checked) last thing would be possible ignition amp failure due to poor weather! dont know if these run a knock sensor, but that will stop it from starting too if its f***ed. common sense says that fuel + spark = bang... any back fire or pops at all? how fast does she turn over? air flow meter plugged in? do a search.

unplug the injectors and try and start it

 

or fouled plugs mine did this was idling for a while with decent plugs then cut out and i couldnt get anything the odd pop now and again fitted new plugs and it fired up straight away

 

so you say new plugs have you had it running with them in

 

get an ohm meter and test the resistance they should read infintiy ohms from the top off the spark plug to the body of the plug{the threaded bit} if you have anything other than infinity the are fouled

 

so they still spark just wont fire this drove me crackers took me ages to find

 

allso pull the injectors and crank over to check there firing ok
