About 2 litres. Fill it to nearly 2 litres then slowly add more until it starts to flow back out of the filling screw/bolt thing. BE1 boxes can last a fair time with little oil - when I got the rally car I drained the box oil and <1 litre came out!! It had done a rally + a test day and about 1000 miles like that with no noticeable damage to the box.

doesn't logic tell you its 2 litres seeing as you've only ever put 2 in Dan?

It is 2 for all the 5 speed boxes, but don't just go sticking 2 litres in.

remove the level plug on the end of the gearbox, turn wheel to full left lock with car on the ground, place pot under level hole.

fill box in through the breather at the top till oil dribbles out of the side, more often than not this will be under 2 litres as it does take some time to get all 2 litres out.
