Fuel Pressure Regulators...

Recommended Posts

Veero

Now I have both here but nothing is stamped on either to suggest a rating or whatever. I have the GTi6 inlet manifold fuel rail and FPR fitted, running Mi16 management and injectors. Is there any difference between the two fuel pressure regulators?

It smells like it is overfuelling and on the MOT the emissions were out which was solved by jiggling around with the AFM setting.

Any ideas? Can I change the FPR over for one that's right or would I need to modify the Mi16 fuel rail to fit the '6 manifold?

Cheers

Veero

So that's yes they are different as in have different effect on fuel pressure at different vacuum?? They are totally different shapes so I figured they weren't interchangeable as such.

The Mi16 reg is the same as the 205 GTI one, 3.0 bar. I thought the GTI6 one was a bit higher but I just looked it up in Autodata and it too is 3.0 bar.

Ah they do the same thing excellent, one less thing to modify.

Hmm could be injectors I guess, or the AFM making it overfuel slightly then. It's nothing bad just a little bit of a whiff.

Thanks for the info Jack.
