Dim Alternator Light When Heater Fan Is On

Hi all,

 

I'm currently getting the battery light on the dash lighting up very faintly when I turn the heater fan on. No other electrical load seems to cause this. I assume this is a bad earth, if so which earth wire is connected to the heater fan?

This is a pretty common thing, most of mine have done it & my GTI still does.

 

I think jackherer might've found a fix a while ago that involved a new terminal on the main alternator / battery wire but can't remember for sure.
