I use an alloy standard 205 GTI / diesel rad on my track day car & its still fine even on summer track days, I'd expect the TD rad to over cool so the oil never really gets hot enough.

The choice of thermostat has more of an effect on overall running temps imo, I have a 78' one fitted iirc & Skip Browns used to supply a 72' or 75' one in the Roadspeed conversions iirc.

engine killer

my experience is a standard copper radiator with stock twin fans setting (original with a/c setup) can survive the hot 34 degree celcius with high humidity weather trackday function in condition that a big oil cooler and the coolant system is un-blocked.

That just a alloy core one or a all alloy rad?

Alloy core, plastic sides. Around £45 for a Nissens one from most motor factors.

The all alloy ones you've seen on ebay are probably the Radtech ones which Daz_C on here has on his car without any issues.

A Valeo rad does the job for me, though i've added the diesel twin fan set up.

Twin fans will have no effect on the running temp imo, they just cool it back down again when its hot enough for the fans to be activated.
