106 Quicksilver Engine Problem (sensors) Video Included

Recommended Posts

Ok, Basically i had a 106 quicksilver that has a problem that when left to idle , after a few mins or so , it pics up a strange rhythem , and eventually dies. It occasionly does somthing similar when actually driving it, the revs die down and then when it picks back up it jolts you into the seat.

I presume its going to be sensor related, im not wondering which one :S.

Ive uploaded a video and in the video you can here the strange idle and eventually see the engine die.

yes will be a sensor, try the ecu temp and icv. Also try giving the throttle bodie and icv a good clean.

already swapped the ecu temp as that was my first thought. Is the Icv like a probe kinda logn sensor, if so i cleaned that before, i guess it may just be time for a new one.

ICV is not a sensor, it's a idle control valve or more precisely stepper motor. If a good cleaning doesn't help, then it's time for a new one.

Try this: when the engine is idling ok, unplug the icv. If it is the icv, then the engine should run ok.
