Hesitant Spot On Lower Revs?

Recommended Posts

allye

Hi all, my rallye has developed a hesitant spot below 2,000rpm. It will just die and not accelerate at all, I have to change down or dip the clutch and rev it. My guess is fuelling problem? I think its only when it cold as well.

Thanks a lot, Ali

Mine does the same, and has gotten conciderably worse as my tappets have gotten worse.. A service made it run smoother when cold, but after 3 months its happening again..

Carb problem i'd say, clean her out! Get some Surface rust remover, its strong as F**k and cleans it out like acid dipping (Obviously with the carb OFF the engine LOL)

I'd agree it sounds carb related, take the carb off and strip it down and clean it all out with compressed air and carb cleaner (I use stp carb spray) and see if it helps, doesn't really cost anything so try that first.

Also if it hasn't had a new fuel filter in a while it would do no harm to change that as they're only a couple of quid.

Having a similar problem at the minute myself mate, have a look at my thread in this TU section and see if any of it helps you out
