Front Wheel Arch Holes

Recommended Posts

;) Hi all, What the purpose of the two holes in each arch? They look as tho' they should be "stoppered". Mine are in very good condition, no rust, but as they are slightly open and I'm fitting new new mudflaps, I was thinking about running some Dinitrol back down inside and stopping up tightly. Is this a good idea? or will it cause a problem later? ;)

 Ok, So I didn't describe the location very well! Looking at say, the offside Front wheel, look back towards the area that the Mudflap would fix to, ie, inner wing if you like. There are two manufactured holes, about 20mm in diameter, one above the other, right in the path of spray and s--t off the wheel, got me? So thats the chaps I'm referring to. Do I make sure nowt gets in them? or should they be left open? :)

Simes

They are drainage holes, there are some in the rear arch too.

Normally a cross split rubber bung in there.

Leave them open.

Well thank you Simes :) I was half and half about that. I still reckon to getting some rust prevention down in cills, maybe some Waxoil or the like.
