Hi Davi1978,

I'm guessing but I figure your talking about removing the K Jetronic and replacing it with a pair of DCOE 40's which is great. The wiring side of things should'nt be complex though. You can remove the entire ecu if you want as the ignition side of things is a seperate thing to the fueling although you would have to make sure that you leave the three wires from the distributor to the ignition amplifier conected but thats all I can think of,just folow them in the loom or if you have a distributor with it's amplifier mounted on the side of it just keep the wires from the amplifier multi plug to the coil intact.

As far as goes the fuel pump,no way on the standard pump I'm afraid the pressure is way to high for a carburetor.Fuel pressure in crburetors is not an exacting science as plenty of factors start to get involved but if you get a small little Facet pump delivering around 5psi you should be good and if you rely want you could run it through a regulator but it would'nt be esential.

The plumbing side of things couldnt be simpler, just fit your carbs and manifold up and connect your fuel lines,oh and dont forget the linkage will allways be agro so give yourself plenty of time to play with it and get both carbs opening with eachother smoothly.

O.T.

You can get a Twin Reg set up, FSE Do a reg which is made for injection fuel pump's to Carb's so thats no real hardship or you can use the Red Top etc but it means modding or using the base model pick up in the tank

I'm running twin 40s on my 205 Special with a Filter King pressure regulator and Facet Red Top. I bought the whole kit from Shenpar and amazingly, the carbs were jetted correctly and no setting up was needed. In my experience, it is a really good modification and in my case has added smoothness and I would guess a bit more power.

I have just spoken to Shenpar about plumbing the breathing pipes and their advice is. The small bore stub on the oil filler cap left open and the larger one piped to a catchpot. I've only just done that and haven't had a chance to test it yet.

I too have twin 40s on my 205 and i also run a filter king regulator and facet red top pump with no problems if you get stuck i can talk you through the way mine is rigged up

Another thing worth saying is that the whole loom has been left intact on mine ,the unused multiplugs are just bagged and cable tied to keep them clean ,this way the car can be returned th fuel injection easily

Peak, looking at the photo of your set-up. How have you connected up your brake servo to get a vacuum? I connected mine to the inlet/outlet on the top of the manifold.

I had a few problems with my breathing set up initially but after a while the penny dropped and i sorted it.

Davi. I,ve been running 40 Webers for a few years now and found a small increase in power but a nice jump in torque when set up properly. I will advise you to get your dizzy rebuilt as the springs do go slack. Try the nice chaps at H&H ignition. They will post to you no probs.

I'm not running a servo. The car is very light and space being limited up front I've fitted a Wilwood tandem master cylinder. Following my call to Shenpar, I've modified the plumbing as shown in the attached picture. One take-off from the inlet manifold goes to the distributor and the other is blanked off. In the previous picture I'd used the second take-off to go to the filler cap with the idea that a bit of suction might help reduce crankase pressure. This it turns out was not good and just weakened the mixture. I've just completed a short run with the new set-up and it seems much better. The engine no longer back-fires on the overrun and the fuming under high revs seems to have disappeared. EngineBay2.jpg

woodsy

When i did my mi16 with carbs.Basically got rid of all injection wires i.e airflow meter, throttle switch, injectors, sad etc.I cut them out but as has been said you could cable tie them all out the way. Then you can mount the manifold and carbs, i bought a twin throttle cable top mount setup likes of tweeks or other will do these.I removed the fuel pump and replaced it with piece of rubber fuel hose to provide the pickup and mounted a facet pump where the fuel filter normally sits and this provides the correct pressure without using regulators to lower the normal injection pressure and has one wire coming from it which goes to a switched live.Only other fiddly bit really was when running the accelerator cable or cable through bulkhead, was to get a small piece of metal either side of the grommet hole to stop the cables pulling through as you would have removed the rubber grommet and drill small hole in metal pieces so cable fits in.Hope that makes sense.
