TOYBOY 1 Posted January 2, 2010 Quick questions re. 405 MI16 Girling calipers. Will these fit 1.6 GTI hubs? Are they the same as 205 Girling calipers as regards fitting with 1.6 discs, using Girling bolts? If so what are best pads for road/occasional track use? pug_ham 243 3 Cars Posted January 3, 2010 The 405 Mi16 has 266mm discs so while the calipers will fit the 1.6 GTI hubs using the bolts for the Girling caliper you might have problems getting a disc the right size to fit due to the different offset. Pads are failry personal but Mintex 1144's or Pagid blacks (Fast road pads) are good pads from my experience, Pagid slightly better than Mintex imo. Graham.
