hi any reason why one side shouldnt work seems like im not getting 12v to the switch will it be same fuse and relay for drivers side , wished haynes would give a colour wiring diagram? any body got a picture of the relays and which does what. cheers happy new year

Check the switch on the drivers side for the passenger window. Believe it or not these are normally the cause.

thanks for that yes it looks like they both need to be attached and working from what i can make out on the wiring diagram

Had this trouble with my CTi....I bought a spare switch from a 1988 car...actually a different make & construction to my 1989 one. Bit you see looks the same of course. This was useful as swapping switches proved my switch was the culprit. Switch came apart fairly easily, internals refreshingly simple & easy to get to. Once you've prised the operating rocker off, all is revealed. Was amazed by the amount of clag that had built up in there. Cleaned it all up, with special attention to the contacts, which were well tarnished, & all now working fine. Just wish all jobs on my car were that easy & straightforward!

hmm ive got all the bits out now cant see how they go bak though especially the part with the little bulb in , bough 1 for a saxo off ebay £1.50 but the button looks different same shape though hopefully same plug underneath

Switches are the same on the 309 and 405 too along with the Citroen BX and other PSA models of 'our' era.

I might have one kicking around if interested.
