I've used super oscars and hella 3000 , both good lamps

 

My pod has a pair of drives and a pair of Spots in the middle all hella 3000's

I can take the inserts ( the actual lamp) out of my spot light casing and put them in my pod if I needed to . Have neveer needed to yet though.

 

Why ar you thinking pod or spots . What events are you thinking about ?

How many night stages ?

 

If there's alot of them go for a pod , (expensive but worth it ) if not just a pair of good spots a lot cheaper off ebay .

Pods traditionally are required when you need a couple of long distance and a couple pointing to the sides (particularly if it is a night rally on gravel and you have rear wheel drive!). I would agree with Craigs advice.
