Changing Turbo , 306 1.9 Td

i need to change the turbo on my 306 1.9 turbo diesel, my question is, how hard is it and how do i attack the job. I looked and im thinking .. remove the intercooler and pipework, then remove the top engine mount and pull the engine forwards.. then a few bolts and oil/water feed.. and the jobs done...

That easy ?

Not really, the exhaust and inlet manifolds both bolt to the back of the head and access is awkward and terrible. I hate working on 306 TD's to the point that I won't any more, bloody horrible things to do anything big on.

The inlet end exhaust manifold bolts are as tom says, a complete nighmare. Some are best attacked from below, some from above. You will have back ache by the end of it. You'd be best removing the downpipe and exhaust first to make access easier. It is doable though, just not much fun!
