Fuel Injectors, Group A - Black

Recommended Posts

Agsie

I have read a few topics on here referring to black, group A fuel injectors and thought I would share the part number I have found.

I have a Zytek group A inlet system from a 1600 XU5JA which has black bosch injectors 0280150209 fitted.

I also have a Longman built 1600 XU5JA competition engine which has exactly the same injectors fitted, again on a standard fuel rail and standard inlet plenum, which ran with an emerald fuel only ECU.

These injectors have a higher flow rate than the standard blue 1.6Gti injectors, 0280150211 which yield 155cc/min @3bar.

The late 1.9 8V and Mi16 yellow injectors 0280150762 are listed at 200cc/min at 3 bar pressure.

I intend on rebuilding the Longman engine and running it on some 45mm Jenvey throttle bodies I have and using it in a clubman rally car.

Differing data is available on the internet for the fuel flow rates. The black 209's are listed at 200cc/min and elsewhere at 176cc/min at 3 bar?

I will be having the injectors serviced, but am considering using yellow 762 injectors instead because they are more widely available cheaply and once the engine is mapped I wouldn't want to be swapping injector type if replacement was neeeded. The injector resistances are all similar, but is there anything else I should consider before switching injectors? If the black 209 was specified by both Zytek and Longman, would it be best to stick with these?

If it's being run on throttle bodies and more importantly mappable management, then your idea to run on more widely available items makes sense to me, it'll be mapped to suit anyway.

Having tested the black ones (Found in any 2L 8v XU10 engine, like 306 XSI, 405 Injection) on the 1.9 Mi16 against std yellow the power made was a complete 2bhp lower than the Yellow ones, This could be but down to a different run thou as the yellow's where tested when the engine was wamer from the first run.

Don;t fall the the Ebay it's rare thing, You can find these very cheap

Can you please confirm the part number of the black 8V XU10 injectors, as there are many 'black' coloured Bosch injectors?
