Gearbox Rebuild For Rallying

Recommended Posts

jimmer

I have a few questions i hope people may be able to answer for my Be3 staight cut gearbox rebuild after i found it very notchy engaging 4th gear.

1. How many gear box cases are there? and which is the best one to use? I've been using a be3 but looks like the case could be used as a be1 as well as it has the cut outs for the differant clutch release is this an early case? An old mi16 case i have has no cut outs for the be1 clutch release.

2.How do i tell if a synchro is in good condition? I don't want to put a knackered one back in.

Any help much appreciated

Miles

Easy the hub's need to have a consistant grove in them, Around 5 or 6 as I;ve never counted them, The spring clip should not be worn either as they can and do snap
