The one who does all the stuff in my neck of the woods is a proper tool!

They should be more understanding, as we pay good money to compete!

Glad you've got the bits to sort the car out, keep up the good work!

It does make life a hell of a lot easier when you've got a very good bunch of scrut's.

Made a start last night stripping it down. It looks like we can save the wing...yay... especially after reading up and finding that they can be a bit, " difficult " shall we say. to remove. So we'll do a bit more tonight. :)

Well the wing has been saved. Just need to clean all the mud off it now and put it back together. Quick pick of it looking a little sorry for itself.

Well he's all back together now and up and running again. A few more little adjustments needed here and there and a damn good wash under the arches and underneath and it'll be ready for the next one. :D

Been really quiet on the rally front last few months. Not competing in Pugsley untill October now by the looks of things so we re taking the time to gather bits and bobs together and begin the process of getting the car MSA logbooked so we can compete on Stage events. We're aiming to do the Christmas stages down in Pembray in Decemeber so all being well that should be the first venture out onto the stages. Main thing we needed were new seats as ours were not in date so we purchased these last month.

Need to get some side mounts now and then cut out the standard rails and put in some new ones and we re on the way. A good weekends work and it'll be ready.. just need to find the time. :D

Well its been 6 months since I last competed on a road rally and that dry patch comes to an end tomorrow. We're doing the Morswyn Williams Memorial Novice Rally. It is using a series of tests in the day within Carmaarthen Show Ground which should be fun before heading into the lanes at night.

Pug has had a fair bit of work done in the last few weeks. No piccies as of yet but will be up soon.

Main changes are new seats and all the other bits and bobs to get it ready for MSA logbooking. Gearbox has also been replaced last week and a new clutch fitted. Done 200 road miles and all seems good ahead of tomorrow. :D

How did you get on?

We finished 40th overall and 19th in class. Disappointed really as some poor organisation spoilt the day section. Night section was better, no pressure after the day so we just went flat out. Without a 10min time penalty we were the fastest :D

Picked up 3 fails, 2 were wrong and shouldn't have counted but never mind. Car was good and only picked up some cosmetic damage.

Here's a quick couple of pics from the Morswyn Williams Memorial Road Rally. 40th overall and 19th in class. Not the best result but another finish once again. :D

Next rally is the Sarn Helen on 5th/6th November run by Lampeter and District and is the last round of this years Welsh Road Rally Championship so should be a fantastic event. After that then is sunroof out so we can get it log booked and then Christmas Stages down Pembrey in December...hopefully.

Competed on the Sarn Helen road rally on Saturday night. A very challenging event as Claire was ill on Friday and all day Saturday and was not in any fit state to navigate but fair play to her she dug deep and got us around the route. We finished 50th overall and 4th in class. Picked up 2 fails early on which we really shouldnt have, school boy error on my part really, but did cost us a 3rd in class but thats rallying. The cold weather made the roads very slippy wich added to the challenge as temperetures dropped to -3 and we had one minor off into a field but thanks to some very helpful guys we were helped out of and sent on our way. Thats the last road rally for me for the year now, a few nights in the garage to tidy the car up and remove the sunroof and blank it off and we can go and get our MSA logbook and have a go at stage events then which Im really looking forward too. :D

We got the sunroof out on Thursday evening, took no more than 40 mins or so. Very easy job which I was suprised about. Going to send it off down the bodyshop in the next few days to have a plate fitted over the hole and have the old mountings grinded down and filled in so it should look nice and tidy then. Good luck with the prep to your car.. can take a bit of time but it ll be worth it in the end. Entry gone in for us for our first stage event on 28th December, Christmas Stages in Pembrey so should be fun :D

No mate. Evrything to remove it is on the out side apart from 2 bolts and 2 screws which are underneath the sunroof release handle. If you peel back the roof lining around the handle you can just about reach them there. It would be easier to remove the release handle and interior light panel but with the cage in the way its a bit of a non starter

Little Pugsley will be getting logbooked on Sunday so we have been busy lately with getting sorted and upto standard. The main thing is that the sunroof has gone and a nice plate has been fitted in its place. Everything is sorted inside now with cut off switched and pull cords for the plumbed in. Door squares have also been added and a few other small details. All it needs now is a wash and re fit rear mud flaps and it should all be ok. :D

No the door squares are not legal for road rallies but as the car is getting logbooked for stage events they have to go on for that. The car will be mainly used for stage events next year so when I do fancy doing a road rally I'll just peel them off.

Tdr, cheers... was inspired by your one.

First stage event coming on Wednesday 28th. West Wales Rally Spares Christmas Stages down Pembrey Race Circuit. Last 2 road rallies we did we notice a slight little knock/rattle. On investigations it came to light the bushes were a bit worse for wear in the bottom arm so a new one was sourced and fitted. Quick test drive and noise was stilll there. Phone call to Neil, who's helped out all the way, and he came down for a nose. Turned out that the gear selector had come loose and was rattling around so nipped that up. Neil also noticed that our strut tops were a little higher than they should be and that one had even started touching the bonnet so the struts were removed to have new rubbers installed.

So as it stands the car is currently leg less. Should be back together this afternoon. Some pics to follow.

Merry Christmas to you all and a happy New Year.
